In light of the huge competition in the smartphone industry, it has become a necessity for companies to manufacture phones with new innovations (or at least improved and developed features) to guarantee a share in the market. Therefore, water resistance – or waterproof feature – became one of those features! The Japanese Company Sony was the first to release water resistance phones to the market!

What the market is witnessing now is companies attempt to produce phones that are fully operable under water in addition to taking picture and videos under water without damaging the phone.

There are many mobiles that are water and bump resistant like Caterpillar’s phone that we talked about previously (you can check out by pressing here), but in this article we will list the best five waterproof phones in the Arab world according to smartphone experts classification in the whole world. However, this list did not include iPhone 7 as users did not begin testing its water resistance yet!

Below you will find the top 5 water resistant phones (based on world records):

Sony Xperia Z5

The Japanese Company Sony was the first to produce and manufacture water resistance phones and the company is still improving this feature in their phones to stay on top of the list of the best waterproof smartphones.

The Japanese Company Sony released their Sony Xperia Z5 series in September 2015 in which experts at Sony designed the Sony Xperia Z5 to be lighter with better water resistance as it now reaches a depth of 1.5 meters and lasts for duration of 30 minutes.

We must point that Sony Xperia Z5 is an excellent choice for people who want to use their phone’s camera in swimming pools. Sony Xperia Z5 is also the best waterproof device and has a 5.2 inch screen, an internal storage of 32 gigabytes, and a 3 gigabyte RAM.

Sony Xperia Z5 has a rear camera with a resolution of 23 megapixels, and a 2900 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S7

The new Samsung Galaxy S7 is Sony’s true competitor after spending much time with their devices being the only water resistant ones in the market. The South Korean Company Samsung announced in February 2016 their new Samsung Galaxy S7 with exceptional specifications and features like being water and dust resistant. Therefore, you no longer have to worry about putting your phones on damp surfaces and dropping it in water. According to the company, Samsung Galaxy S7 is designed to last for a period of 30 minutes in a depth of 1.5 meters as they wrapped it with an internal coating.

Galaxy S7 has a 5.1 inch screen and a rear (main) camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels. It is available in two versions: 32 gigabytes and 64 gigabytes both with a 4 gigabyte RAM. Samsung GalaxyS7 has a non-removable 3000 mAh battery.

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Again, another product from the Japanese Company Sony makes the list with Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. It is an average priced phone (cheaper than Z5 Series) with water resistant features similar to Sony Z3.

Its resistance is between having water spilled on it and reaching 30 minutes in a depth of 1.5 meters (it has water resistance between Z5 and Z3).

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua has a 5.0 inch screen and a rear camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels, and a 2400 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S5 is more than two years old now and it is different from other phones on this list as it can only withstand a depth of no more than one meter for a short period of time (you need to be careful when using it under water).

It has a 5.1 inch screen and is available in two versions: the first has an internal storage of 16 gigabytes and the second is 32 gigabytes; both have 2 gigabyte RAM.

The rear camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels and it has a non-removable 2800 mAh battery.

Motorola Moto G – 3rd Generation

Similar to Samsung Galaxy S5, Motorola’s Moto G 3rd Generation can last for a short period of time in a depth of one meter, but it was released last year in July 2016.

It has a 5.0 inch screen and a rear (main) camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels and a 2470 mAh battery.

It is also available in two versions: the first has an 8 gigabyte internal storage memory and a 1 gigabyte RAM, while the second version has an internal storage memory of 16 gigabytes and a 2 gigabyte RAM.

It is true that these phones are the best smartphones when it comes to water resistance but smartphone companies are still improving and enhancing this feature and it is expected that we will see a huge leap regarding this feature during the next few years. This is why we will always keep you up-to-date in regards to the developments in the smartphone industry and the Tech World. Stay tuned with Labeb.com for the information you need!
